“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” — Hebrews 11:1
“Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.” — Romans 10:17
If faith comes by hearing the Word, then every miracle recorded in Scripture is fuel for our faith. Even if you haven’t personally seen a Red Sea part, or walked with God through literal flames, or watched the walls of Jericho crumble before your eyes—the fact that these moments are written in the Word is God’s way of saying: “I AM ABLE.”
If you choose to believe that God can do the same for you—even before you see it, even when nothing around you suggests it—that is faith. And Hebrews 11:6 reminds us:
“But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”
You must choose to believe that God is who His Word declares Him to be:
Provider. Way-Maker. Strength-Giver. Promise-Keeper.
And when you choose to hold onto that truth—despite the chaos, despite the waves, despite the pain—God promises to honor that kind of faith. If not fully on this side of eternity, then surely in the next.
So keep holding on. I know it’s not easy. But remember…
“Since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. For the joy that was set before Him, He endured the cross, despising the shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider Him… lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls.” — Hebrews 12:1–3
Fix your eyes on Jesus. Faith begins with Him, is sustained by Him, and will one day be completed by Him.
